University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UMORE) is the main contractor of CETRA. The group at UMORE is active in theoretical development as well as in the application of complexity-related methods to the economy. Particular attention has been devoted to the study of the evolution of market systems and of industrial districts. The “department of cognitive and quantitative social sciences” directly involved in CETRA, have been leader of the EU project “ISCOM: the Information Society as a Complex System[ (IST-2001-35505) and of the project “Industrial Districts ad a Complex System”, co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR, project number 2002133972).UMORE leads the partnership giving active contribution to all the five work packages in which the project develops. Specifically UMORE brings to project an added value in terms of capacity to identify and analyse case studies of interest, analysis of didactic material and of the efficacy of e-learning courses already existing, production and consolidation of new and relevant educational material. Last but not least one of the main dissemination tasks of the project takes place at UMORE and consists on a international workshop on complexity for trainers.
