Fundacao Escola Profissional de Setubal (FEPS)
Fundacao Escola Profissional de Setubal (FEPS) was founded in 1990 under the initiative of the Town Hall with the agreement of the Ministry of Education. As a vocational school FEPS offers to the 800 students with ages between 15 and 25 years old, the chance to develop their studies directly connected to practical application. During the last 7 years several European projects have taken place under the European Programs: f.i.under ADAPT as partner in the ETTNA – European Trainer Trainers Network Action project. Under LEONARDO in Distance Training (DITRA), with 12 partners from 11 countries. The goal of the project was to define the profile of the Distance European Trainer. FEPS has a Centre of Recognition and Validation of Competencies. Yearly this center handles almost 1200 individuals looking for school certification of prior learned competencies. Some small training kits are provided in order to complement critical knowledge needs, as: operative math, reading workshops, language and communication skills, empowerment, new technologies.
